Ali: Mr. Bala..
Ali: Good morning Mr. Bala. My name is Ali. I am a fifth year medical student. May I talk to you about your condition?
Mr. Bala: (Appears gloomy and has not taken his lunch. Not responding to Ali nor having any eye contact with Ali)
Ali: (Notices that Mr. Bala appears sad and has not touched his meal) Are you okay, Mr. Bala? You look sad. Is there something that I can help you with?
Mr. Bala: (Starts shedding tears, wipes his tears and covers his face)
Ali: (Slowly approaches Mr. Bala and touches Mr. Bala lightly on his shoulders)
Mr. Bala: (Continues crying but still managed to talk) I don't know what I'm going to do now. My leg was amputated two days ago. All because of diabetes.. (Continues crying)
Ali: (Takes out a tissue and offers it to Mr. Bala) I am so sorry to hear that. (Pauses to allow Mr. Bala to continue)
Mr. Bala: Thank you..
Mr. Bala: (Continues crying and wiping his tears) How am I going to work now? I can't drive my lorry with this amputated leg.. How am I going to take care of my wife and children? Who's going to put food on the table?
Ali: (Leans forward and brings his face at the same level with Mr. Bala. Ali also keeps his notes aside) I can see that you're very sad about what has happened.
