Step 1: Defining the decision

Clarify whether the patient understands what is and the purpose prostate cancer screening.

Step 2: Listing options

List the available screening methods for the patient:
  • PSA
  • DRE
  • PSA and DRE

Step 3: Discussing the pros and cons of each option

Explain the advantages and disadvantages of each screening option based on evidence.
